Framing a Subject
March 23

While reading the articles I learned that it's very important to draw attention to your subject. When framing the subject in the photo, this brings the viewers to focus in, so it's important to make the subject looking pleasing, such as having good lighting and have the background be less busy by keeping it very minimal (especially when taking portraits). I also learned that when choosing what the frame is going to be, it doesn't necessarily have to fully surround the subject, but you might have to make the subject more apparent if you're going to be doing this. I think lighting plays a huge part in framing a subject, it makes it so you can really see the picture and your eyes are drawn in to look at what is being lit up.

For my first photo, I wanted to keep the background very minimal and have the perfect lighting to complement the subject. To make it more apparent that this was framing subject photography, I had her sort of frame her face with her hair and hands. This photo was taken on my iPhone.
